I arrived late in the day at my initial destination of my recent Colorado Rockies trip … the Maroon Bells. First job was check-in, followed by pitching my tent … my “home” for the next 5 days:
The next morning (Day 2) I awoke early (with the help of my alarm clock) and drove a short distance to Maroon Lake to catch the sunrise:
As you can see, the sky was perfectly clear on this first morning at the Bells. On the next morning (Day 3), we had some interesting skies that made for some nice images, although the skies helped to keep the foreground a bit darker:
And after the good light had faded, I walked around the lake and photographed this beaver lodge:
