Today’s Fun Friday post comes from our Maroon Bells (Colorado) campground. This little Colorado Chipmunk (Tamias quadrivittatus) seemed to be acting more like a squirrel than a chipmunk, climbing the small aspen trees around our campsite:
I thought it rather strange for this little critter to be climbing trees. But I soon caught on. As you can see in the last image, he was simply putting himself in a position where he could reach the seedheads of some of the tall grasses that were growing around the campsite! Quite an interesting little creature :o)
