A few mornings ago, I took an early morning kayak trip at a nearby waterway, to check on a beaver population. I arrived ~45 minutes before sunrise and launched “Rubber Ducky” and headed toward the beaver lodge. This morning was a great morning to be on the water. A bit on the “chilly” side (air temperature was in mid-30’s), but there was a great layer of fog on the water. And anyone who knows me very well will attest that I just can’t contain myself whenever the local weather forecast includes fog! This day was no exception. I’ll share some beaver images in another post (they were extremely active in the early morning), but today’s post is all about the fog … and the really great photo opps that comes with it! Here are some of my faves. In this first image, the fog is very heavy, before sunrise. A simple composition, but one I like:
In this next image, the fog is nearly burned off and the low sun is finding it’s way to some of the dead trees in the water:
