A few weeks ago, I photographed a group of American White Pelicans (Pelicanus erythrorhynchos) at our nearby, city lake. As they were migrating through the area, on the way northward for the summer, they seemed to be quite hungry, feeding as a group in the lake … and creating this “Fun Friday” opportunity.
In this first image, a group of the pelicans are swimming together in a group to herd fish into shallow waters, for easy pickings:
And when the fish are in position, it’s “Bottoms Up”!
