Seeds of Life

As you read this blog post, I will likely either be on my way traveling up the “Going to the Sun Road”, or getting ready to make the ascent. I am spending a few days in Glacier National Park, a place I have visited only once, and only for a half day. In 2007, I was attending a wildlife photography class, via the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, and we were located in Kalispell, Montana … only a little ways from Glacier NP. It so happened we had a half day off, so another student and I decided to check out the park. As you can imagine, we didn’t see a lot in 5-6 hours, but it sure planted the bug to someday return! Well, that time is now and I’ll have a few days to hike and photograph the beautiful scenery, wildlife and wildflowers. I’m hoping I will be able to even post a few “real time” posts, but we’ll see how much time I have. Until then, please enjoy some more posts from home. If you need to contact me for business matters, please leave a message with my house-sitter while I am gone.

Today’s post features a prairie grass that recently has gone to seed. As I hiked the area, looking for wildflowers and prairie creatures, I came upon this interesting scene:

I know this is not a glorious subject, or photo, but I was quite struck by the natural beauty, watching the tiny seeds dangling … literally, from a thread … in the gentle breeze. A renewal of life, in process!
