While going through my vast library of images to find some images for a client, I ran across some images I made from the kayak a couple of years ago and had never posted. So, today’s featured subject is the night heron. In particular, a juvenile Yellow-crowned Night Heron.
While kayaking a local Missouri waterway, I ran across this juvenile, who was rather accepting of me. Here are a couple of favorite images:
I don’t often see the adults, who are much more distinguishable between species (Yellow-crowned vs. Black-crowned). But the juvies are fun, too!
