While visiting the Venice Rookery, the Great Blue Herons were in the middle of their breeding season. A couple of nests had chicks in them, while others were building nests and the birds displaying to attract mates. Here are a couple of displaying Great Blue Herons:
Bird behavior at breeding time can be exciting to watch as they often “pull out all stops” to attract a mate, build a nest and get the process going!
