Sure Sign of Spring

One of the sure signs of spring is the male Red-winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus), perched and singing. Lately, my covered front porch has been taken over by a large group of red-winged blackbirds, feeding from my sunflower bird feeders. The photographs below were taken while I was photographing at Green Cay Wetlands in Florida, but the scene on my front porch is looking very similarly!

Looking forward to getting the kayak back out (if I can find some places with sufficient water!) and photographing them as they display and sing along the waterways.
