Beautiful Amber-wing

While photographing some dragonflies the other morning, in one of my rural Missouri home gardens, a single Low-flying Amber-wing (Perithemis tenera) landed on a nearby plant. Carefully and slowly, I positioned my tripod so that I could grab a few images of this winged beauty. Here are a couple of my favorite images:
