Early Morning Beauty

An early morning drive on the Going-to-the-Sun Road (Glacier NP, Montana) can be a rewarding experience:

Going-to-the-Sun Road landscape

As we rounded a sharp corner, the light was just beginning to hit the top of a mountain, across the valley. Clouds were really pouring in … and gaining altitude with every turn of the car wheel, we were soon driving in one of the heaviest cloud covers I’ve ever seen! Actually, quite “white knuckling” at such altitude, and with such steep dropoffs along the road!  Along a stretch of road, one could only see the lines painted on the roads, for about 15 feet! But when you could see, it was a gorgeous sight!

Photographic Equipment Used:

  • Handheld, with IS “On”
  • ISO 200
