Fun Friday: Playin’ in the Wildflowers

Today’s Fun Friday post comes from the Rattlesnake Wilderness Area, just outside Missoula, Montana. While attending some photography classes at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in 2007, I captured this deer fawn as it wandered about the meadow:

A few moments later, Mom walked out of the shrubby area and met up with her young fawn:

A quick look back at me and they moved into the heavy foliage.

Photographic Equipment Used:

  • Canon 1D Mark 2 body
  • Canon EF100mm-400mm, f/4.5-f/5.6 IS lens, shot at 400mm
  • Handheld, with IS “On”
  • ISO 200
  • Aperture f/5.6
  • Shutter 1/125 sec.

Reminder: I have a booth at the 2014 Fall Harvest Arts/Craft Show in Lee’s Summit, Missouri today. It is located in the John Knox Pavilion and Friday hours are 11:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm.
