Another “Fake”

Another “false” wildflower captured at Prairie State Park was the False Dandelion (Krigia biflora). Growing to 2-feet tall, it reminded me of the real Dandelions that grow so large in Alaska (where the all-day sunshine really gives them a hefty growth spurt)!

Maybe not one of our “dainty” wildflowers, but still a beautiful plant with lots of color!

  • Canon 1D Mark 3 body
  • Canon EF 180mm, f/3.5 macro lens + Canon 1.4x TC (total of 252mm)
  • Bogen 3221 tripod with Kirk ballhead
  • ISO 400
  • Aperture f/5
  • Shutter 1/2500 sec. (top photo) and 1/4000 sec. (bottom photo)
