Flowering Dogwood

Yesterday morning saw a gently, misty rain for nearly the entire morning, before ending and remaining cloudy. Once the rain ended, I headed out to the woods in my rural Missouri home’s backyard and photographed several things, including this Flowering Dogwood (Cornus florida):

The Dogwood also happens to be the state tree of Missouri … such a lovely sight to see in spring!
