High Bullfrog Activity

On my last kayak outing (about a week ago), it was very obvious that the frog activity was very high. As I sat in a small cove in my kayak, you could look over the water and see hundreds of frog heads sticking out of the water. And sometimes you could see frogs coming up, out of the water, as they surfaced. On my way back to the take-out area, I stopped to capture some of the larger bullfrogs. Here are a couple of my favorite images:

  • Canon 5D Mark 3 body
  • Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS lens + Canon 1.4x TC
  • Handheld from my kayak, with IS “On”
  • ISO 800
  • Aperture f/8
  • Shutter 1/1600 sec.
