In Part 3 of the Orb Spider posts, I’m sharing some images of another orb spider I found in my wildflower garden. So far, I’ve not identified the species, but as with most orb spiders, it has a rather ornate pattern on his back (which should aid in identifying it, once I get some time). Late summer and early fall are favorite times to find the beautiful orb spiders and their elaborate webs. Here are a couple of images of my find:
As the temperatures continue to cool and the early mornings become “chilly”, I am planning on returning to the nearby natural prairie and see what orbs are busy there.
