Busy Beavers, Part 2

As a followup to “Busy Beavers, Part 1”, today’s post features a few images I was able to capture of the Waterton Canyon beavers as they swam underwater. That amazingly clear, “mountain spring water” of the Platte River, along with the relatively shallow waters, made it especially easy to see/watch the beavers as they swam about underwater, something I don’t get to see back home in the muddy waters! Here are a few of my favorite images:

And in this last image, one of the beavers was taking a willow branch back to his lodge, for consumption in private!

  • Canon 7D body
  • Canon EF 100mm-400mm f/4.5-f/5.6 IS lens
  • Handheld, with IS “On”
  • ISO 800
  • Aperture f/6.3
  • Shutter 1/1320 sec. to 1/400 sec.
