Today’s post features some of the many Bighorn Sheep ram images I captured during my recent trip to Waterton Canyon, Colorado:
At one point, one of the older rams (not one of the largest in this herd) attempts to mate with a ewe that was not yet ready to mate:

- Canon 5D Mark 3 body + Canon 1.4x TC
- Canon EF 100mm-400mm f/4.5-f/5.6 IS lens
- Handheld, with IS “On”
- ISO 400 to ISO 1600 (depending on available light in the canyon)
- Aperture f/6.3 to f/8
- Shutter 1/50 sec. to 1/640 sec.
