Fun Friday: Me, and My Shadow

Today’s Fun Friday post comes from 2014, while photographing in the beautiful Myakka River at Myakka River State Park in Florida.

This image was captured late in the afternoon, as sunset was starting to occur. I love photographing the critters on the Myakka River at sunrise and sunset … the river takes on the beautiful colors of the sky at those times. And while on the dark side, birds like the Black-crowned (and Yellow-crowned) Night Herons are usually busy foraging at the river’s edge. Here is one of my favorite images of the Black-crowned Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax) in the sunset colors:

Myakka River State Park is towards the top of my favorite shooting places in Florida. There always seems to be something interesting there to photograph.
