Early Morning at Sandy Stream Pond

Over the next couple of posts, I’ll be sharing some images from a trip to Maine in 2006, to photograph moose. Today’s post includes a few landscape images I captured in the early mornings at Sandy Stream Pond (in Baxter State Park, ME) while waiting for the moose to arrive at the pond for feeding:

This trip was in early October, when the fall colors were really beginning to turn. Beyond Sandy Stream Pond are Turner Mountain and the famous Mt. Katahdin. The scenery was magnificent … if only the moose would have showed up this early! Upcoming posts will feature some of the moose images I captured on this trip.
