Au Natural, So Much Nicer…

… than seeing them on a coat or jacket! I don’t get to see these shy little guys very often, but I cherish each time I am honored to spend some time with a mink! Today’s post comes from one such encounter, in 2007. I was camped out along a bend in the creek, when I caught some movement ahead of me. After watching the area for a few seconds, this cute little guy popped his head up from among some downed trees:

Mink

Mink

Mink

This little guy was not nearly as shy as most mink I’ve found are. When he heard/saw me standing behind a tree shooting him, he made a bee-line for me. Just as he reached where I was, I had to “shoo” him away. It was an invigorating experience, but the thoughts of rabies told me not to allow him to get any closer! Still, I appreciate and thoroughly enjoy each encounter with mink.
