Magee’s Chestnut-sided Warblers

Today’s post, the second post of warblers migrating through Magee Marsh (northern Ohio), features the colorful Chestnut-sided Warbler. Here are a few of my favorite images, all from Day #1 of my 3-day photo trip at the Marsh:

Coming up … more wonderful warblers captured at Magee Marsh!

Photographic Equipment Used:

  • Canon 7D Mark 2 body
  • Canon 100-400mm, f/4.5-5.6 IS lens, all shot at 400mm
  • Handheld, with IS “On”
  • ISO 800 (all images)
  • Aperture f/5.6 (all images). Due to the frequent and sudden movements that warblers exhibit, a high ISO was required to assure any movement was “frozen”.
  • Shutter 1/640 sec. thru 1/2000 sec.
