Fun Friday: Water Jockeys

Today’s post features a couple of images I captured yesterday at our lake home at the Lake of the Ozarks (Missouri). As fish have been very actively lately, the gulls are also active as they seek out the small morsels awaiting them. As one gull sat on our buoy (watching for fish, without expending the energy that flight requires), a second gull swooped in and “bumped” him away from his perch. Jockeying for best position is a common behavior right now:

So many things happening here at the lake right now … beautiful fall colors, birds migrating, so many species of wildlife working to get food stored up for the winter … you never know what you’re going to see!
