Baby, It’s Cold Outside!

Today’s post features an image I captured yesterday in our Lake of the Ozarks (MO) butterfly garden:

Early Crocus in snow

In fall, we planted ~40 crocus bulbs, to give us early color in our butterfly garden. After receiving about 2-inches of snow yesterday, I spent some time this morning photographing this early riser.

Photographic Equipment Used:

  • Canon 5D Mark 3 body
  • Canon 180mm, f/3.5 macro lens
  • Bogen 3221 tripod with ballhead
  • ISO 200
  • Aperture f/3.5
  • Shutter Speed 1/500 sec.
  • Image is a “focus stacked” image, made by combining 6 images of varying focus points, using Helicon Focus software
