In my last post, I shared some images of a Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) in rather strange plumage. Today’s post includes more bald eagle images made during that trip.
The bald eagles of the Chilkat River Valley (outside Haines, Alaska) often get ridiculously close to humans as they move about the river hunting for spawned-out salmon. Thus, it is often quite easy to get some really nice closeup images of our national symbol. Here are a few from that trip to the “Valley of the Eagles”:
