More Golden-crowned Kinglets

When I was out shooting the other day, I ran across the Brown Creepers of my last post, but also found a small group of Golden-crowned Kinglets (Regulus satrapa). This was only my second ever sighting of these kinglets (Here are images from my first encounter) and, until then, had never seen the male kinglet with his bright orange-centered crown. Out of the group, I only saw one male, but he sure stood out! Unfortunately, he was more timid than the females I saw and he stayed across the creek from me. But the females came right over and were within ~25 feet from where I was sitting (when I first heard the calls of the kinglets, I sat down under a large tree and waited for them to come to me). Here are a few of my favorite images I made:

My next step? Heading back out to try to get some images of the male!
