During my current Yellowstone NP photo trip, I have been fortunate to see several populations of Bighorn Sheep. In fact, on my first trip into the park, I was able to see 2 groups of sheep, including a group of 3 that descended from a rocky ledge and approached very close to us. In the above image, notice how the sheep’s hooves separate to give him better gripping power on the steep slopes.
