Prothonotary Warblers Are Back!

I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather the past few days, but the weather outside is so nice here right now that I just had to get out for a short kayak adventure yesterday. Most of the waterfowl seems to have moved on, with only a few straggling Blue-winged Teal, some American Coots and a few groups of Canada Geese remaining. But we now have some new summer residents moving in … some precious warblers!

Today’s post includes a few images of a male Prothonotary Warbler (Protonotaria citrea) I made yesterday from the kayak:

During this outing, I also ran into several male Yellow-rumped Warblers. I’ll post some images of these little guys in another post.
