April Showers Bring …

… Wildflowers!

All of my recent posts have featured area wildlife. But I have taken some time to explore nearby woodlands for wildflowers, especially with all the rain we’ve been receiving. Today’s post features the Dutchman’s Breeches (Dicentra cucullaria) that are growing across the road from my house. These dainty little wildflowers are one of my favorite woodland flowers this time of year, especially when captured with droplets of rainwater on them!

I will be sharing some more wildflower species in the coming days. Wildflowers are right behind wildlife as my favorite subjects to photograph and I’m hoping for another fine year of wildflower growth in my area!
