Northern Harriers

During my recent visit to Squaw Creek NWR, I was amazed at the number of Northern Harriers (Circus cyaneus) flying about the refuge. Most of the time, there were multiple harriers gliding low over the open fields and marshes. Several times I looked up and saw harriers flying overhead:
