While at Squaw Creek NWR, one of the many ducks seen was the Northern Pintail (Anas acuta):
The Northern Pintail is one of my favorite ducks that migrate through our area. Although usually wary and difficult to approach, they are very lean and elegant, and certainly worth the effort!
