“Chip”

While we were camping in the Maroon Bells area, we often noticed this little Colorado Chipmunk (Tamias quadrivittatus) scampering around the campsite. More than once, we would see movement out of the corner of our eye, in some nearby small trees/shrubs. Looking for a bird, we would then notice our friend, Chip, moving about the shrub branches looking for his snack:

Would have loved to spend some more time with our little friend, but our short visit to Maroon Bells, coupled with steady rains during the last day and half of our visit there, made it difficult to shoot him (the above images were taken from the car during a rainy period). Maybe next time … !
