Featured Information
Due to my recent move to the Lake of the Ozarks, along with the Covid issues, I am currently not teaching group classes. However, I am available for private individual or very small group, in-the-field teaching, where we can safely learn more about our cameras and our photographic techniques..

Double the Fun
Today’s post comes from one of my past Baja (Mexico) photo trips. On the Pacific side of the Baja Peninsula, Laguna San Ignacio is a popular and most extraordinary place to visit. This area is normally a busy fishing area for the area’s fishermen. In late fall, Gray Whales migrate here for both breeding and […]

The Ho, Ho, Ho Blue Giant
(This post originally published following my 2009 Baja photo trip) In this post of my 2009 Baja trip, I will share some of my experiences with the blue whale, the largest mammal on earth. The first images are of blue whales (Balaenoptera musculus), the largest creature on earth, with a length of ~100 feet! These […]

Breaching Gray Whales
(This post was made after my 2009 Baja photo trip) And we were able to see a couple of the Gray Whales propel themselves out of the water, a phenomenon called breaching. The next 3 images were taken in succession, of a single, Gray Whale breaching:

From Washington to Alaska, via the Scenic Route
Yesterday, I posted some images made along Alaska’s Inside Passage in winter. I had a good response from that post, along with some questions about the ferry. So, today I’m posting one more post about the ferry. I published this post a couple of years ago, but I’m re-publishing it today, along with a few […]
