I could use some ID assistance on today’s post. It seems like every year, I find some of these emerging wildflowers, but when I return to see what they look like in full bloom, I can never figure out which ones were in the process of emerging during my previous visit! Even so, I believe this to be a species of sunflower, or sunflower-like wildflower. But I always love the look of these emerging flowers. These were found on a prairie not far from my home:
Regardless of what this wildflower is, it certainly represents a rebirth of the prairie … life returning! And did you notice the small insect in the last image, that managed to find the plant while I was photographing it? Ya just never know nature will present to you! :o)
