While on Mount Evans (Colorado) this past July, I had several nice outings with the Yellow-bellied Marmots (Marmota flaviventris). Here are a few of my favorite images:
The bottom 3 closeup images were made as Momma Marmot ran to play under my car … while I was busy photographing the 6 baby marmots nearby (I’ll share some of those cute photos in another post). For some reason, she was obsessed with getting under the car … maybe to get any minerals from the undercarriage that she could? In any event, she was not afraid of me and approached me several times (seemed like the mountain goats, all over again!).
