Growing Rampant!

On Saturday morning, I made another trip to the woodland near my rural Missouri home, where I conduct my “shorty” wildflower workshops. I was pleasantly surprised at the big changes in things that have occurred since my last trip there, just 4 days earlier! Besides seeing some new FOY wildflowers, the Virginia bluebells are now at peak, giving the woodland floor a nice, blue color! Also, thousands of trout lily plants are now up and a very nice bloom should be seen in a few days. And the Blue-eyed Mary (Collinsia verna) wildflowers, which I posted on a few days ago, are now growing at a high rate. In some areas, there were huge colonies of this lovely little flower. Here are a few images I captured on Saturday:

In tomorrow’s post, I’ll share a wildflower that has just started blooming in the woodland.
