Just a Hop and a Skip Away

Today’s post is the first of several that I will be sharing from my recent trip to the Colorado Rockies to photograph the 2017 Perseids meteor shower. This image was inspired by viewing the surrounding skyline from Upper Goliath Wilderness Area, located along the Mount Evans Highway. In the distance, the skyline of Denver is just beginning to appear in the view. And in the foreground is a dead, old Bristlecone Pine stump:

Much more coming from this trip: Perseids, mountain goats, pika, sunrises … something for everyone!

Photographic Equipment Used:

  • Canon 5D Mark 3 body
  • Rokinon 14mm lens, f/2.8
  • Bogen 3221 tripod, with ballhead
  • ISO 3200
  • Shutter 28 seconds
