Today’s post features a look at Yellowstone NP’s Firehole River and some of it’s many picturesque views in the winter.

Along the banks of the Firehole River, a small tree collects snow, steam and frost and in the frigid temperatures, gives us a chilling look at Yellowstone in the winter:

- Canon 28-135mm, f/3.5-f/5.6 IS lens
- Handheld, with IS “On” (and sitting down, bracing the camera against my body to prevent “camera shake” at the slow shutter speed)
- ISO 100 to ISO 250
- Aperture f/27, f/5.6, f/4.5 (in order of photos)
- Shutter 1/8 sec., 1/350 sec., 1/2000 sec. (in order of photos)
