A short break from my recent road trip, while I keep busy downloading images and editing them :o)
Yesterday morning, I made a trip to the nearby natural prairie to see what has changed since my last visit, almost 5 weeks ago. As I started my hike across the prairie, I saw this cute little male Widow Skimmer dragonfly (Libellula luctuosa) that was perched on a grass blade, covered in early morning dew:
As he was covered in small, dew droplets, he was unable to fly. This allowed me to set up my tripod and capture a series of 14 extremely closeup images for stacking in a focus-stacked software program (Helicon Focus):
Besides this little gem, I found several new wildflowers blooming … I’ll share some of those in another post.
