A Little Gold in the Garden

It’s not just butterflies … today’s post features some of the many American Goldfinches that frequently visit our Lake of the Ozarks butterfly garden, searching for just that right seed snack!

I have multiple species of coneflowers, along with some Prairie Blazing Star … the goldfinches seem to enjoy all of them!

 

Photographic Equipment Used:

  • Canon 5D Mark 3 body
  • Canon 100-400mm, f/4.5-f/5.6 IS lens
  • Handheld, with IS “On”
  • ISO 400 and ISO 800
  • Aperture f/5.6
  • Shutter Speed 1/60 sec. to 1/2000 sec.
