Another Spring Fever Memory

Yesterday’s Spiderwort post featured one of my favorite wildflowers. Today’s followup post includes another favorite, the Blue Sage:

Hmmm, am I addicted to blue? I do have to admit that both the Spiderwort and the Blue Sage are wonderful blue/purple wildflowers that I enjoy photographing immensely! The blue sage appears to be a very dainty little wildflower, with the flower being about the size of a dime. But it is quite tolerant and sturdy, surviving lots of different climatic conditions.

Photography Equipment Used:

  • Canon 1D Mark 3 body and Canon 7D body
  • Canon EF100mm-400mm, f/4.5 – f/5.6, IS lens, and the Canon EF180mm, f/3.5 macro lens (and the Canon 1.4x TC on some images, with both camera bodies)
  • Gitzo 1258-LVL carbon fiber tripod, with Kirk Enterprises HD ball head
  • ISO variable (dependent upon the conditions during the shoots)
  • Aperture variable
  • Shutter variable
