Saturday morning I made a visit to the nearby prairie, hoping to find a dragonfly crusted over with frost (our first frost warning of the fall season was Saturday morning). Unfortunately, no dragonflies were found. But several wildflowers were still blooming and the first signs of fall colors were exhibited by many of the Sumac leaves. Sumac is a quite invasive plant on the prairie and one I don’t like to see. However, if the sumac must be there, then at least I will enjoy the bright red colors!
