If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I have found a real gem this spring, a prairie meadow that is yielding beaucoup wildflowers (with nonstop blooming!) and some interesting butterflies. Since I have been collecting quite a few butterfly images from this area, I thought I’d highlight some of my recent finds.
Here is one of the more common butterflies I have been finding, a Great Spangled Fritillary Butterfly (Speyeria cybele), this one on a Pale Purple Coneflower (Echinacea pallida):
I also have seen a Little Wood Satyr butterfly (Megisto cymela) on the Pale Purple Coneflower:
And everyone’s favorite, the Monarch (Danaus plexippus), this one on a Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca):
