While cruising the Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area, I pulled over beside the road to check out the area with my binoculars. As I came to a stop, a Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) flew up from the marshy flora and began to fly away from the area. I had been oblivious to him being there, as he was tucked away behind some dead marsh grass. He likely was sitting on one of the many muskrat huts in the area. Quickly, I grabbed my camera and began shooting this sequence, from the car window:
