Dew He, or Dew He Not?

I have a lot of activities going on right now … art festivals the next 2 weekends, and started 5 weeks of teaching photography classes last evening … so several of my upcoming posts may be shorter than usual. Such is the case with today’s post. A few weeks ago, while photographing on a local prairie, I came upon this dew-covered Cicada:

Dew-covered Cicada

Patiently waiting for the dew to dissipate, he was very cooperative as I managed to get in tight for a macro shot!

Photo Equipment Used:

  • Canon 7D camera body
  • Canon 180mm macro lens, with Canon 1.4x TC (shot at 252mm)
  • Bogen 3221 Tripod, with Kirk Ent. HD ballhead
  • ISO 250
  • Aperture f/16
  • Shutter Speed 1/6 sec.
