Dutchman’s Breeches

During my recent hikes in nearby woods, I have been blessed with many different wildflowers.  One of my favorites is the Dutchman’s Breeches (Dicentra cucullaria), a daintly little plant that stands about 10″-12″ tall.  This plant inhabits rich slopes of woods, bottomlands and streamsides, and demands excellent drainage and humus-rich soil to grow.
