Early Sandhills

Some of the fun birds we saw at Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area (Missouri) were some early-migrating Sandhill Cranes (Grus canadensis). I didn’t see any on the first evening in the area, but found these two adults on Day 2:

On Day 3, we not only saw 2 adults, but 3 juveniles that remained close to the adults at all times:
