Today’s post features a couple of images captured during one of my Alaska trips, when fall colors began to emerge along the highway from Anchorage to Homer, Alaska, in early September 2007.
This first image was an unexpected surprise … while traveling on the highway, I rounded a corner and this beautiful, mountain scene unfolded before me. It was difficult finding a suitable place to pull the car over, but I worked at it until I managed to squeeze the rental car off the road, enough to grab my image. Reflections of the mountains and fall-colored trees really captured my attention, along with the fireweed blooming/changing to fall colors in the foreground:
Not far away, with steep mountains along the highway, lots of Mountain Goats foraged along the steep mountainside, which was showing it’s golden and red fall colors:
