Foggy Beginnings

During my last kayak outing, I was blessed to have some dense fog around me for the first hour on the water. While I was paddling the area, I noticed a Wood Duck (Aix sponsa) darting between the heavy aquatic foliage, followed by her 2 ducklings:

If you follow my blog, you know that foggy conditions are always a highlight for me. The eerie atmosphere, the wildlife drifting in and out of the fog, and never knowing what will come out of the fog next!

Oh, and by the way, after the fog cleared that morning, a handsome drake (male) Wood Duck flew over the kayak:
