Today’s post features a pair of nesting Great Egrets, in brilliant breeding plumage, that I captured a few years ago at the Venice Rookery, in Venice, Florida.
The red-berried plant is a Brazilian Pepper. Although quite photogenic, it’s roots are many and can extend for long distances to drink up water, making it an unwanted, invasive plant.
