Today’s fun foto is from my winter trip to Florida. While photographing birds at the beach in St. Petersburg, many of the Black Skimmers (Rhynchops niger) dropped to the ground and sprawled out on the sand, making for a comical sight:
I’d never seen this behavior in the birds before.

- Shutter 1/400 sec. (bottom photo shot at 1/1250 sec.)
